Net for Blind and Vision-Impaired
Amateur Radio Operators
NET
The Cross-Country Blind Ops Net meets once a week on the 20 meter band. Net Control Tom Behler, KB8TYJ, reports that most participants are blind hams with common interests. He also emphasizes that all hams are welcome to participate, regardless of their vision.
The Net is based in the United States, and there are occasional check-ins from Canada as well.
The frequency is 14.258 MHz. During U.S. Standard Time, the start time is every Sunday afternoon at 2100 Zulu (4 PM Eastern/1 PM Pacific).
During Daylight Saving Time (March 13 to November 6, 2011) the Net starts at 2000 Zulu.
ROUNDTABLE
An East Coast/Midwest Blind Ops Roundtable meets at or near 7.188 MHz on Saturday afternoons at the same start time listed above. The Roundtable is also open to all hams.
